Learn everything you can about the focus you are most passionate about. Get informed about the issues... knowledge is one thing that people cannot take away from you. So when you are acting as a voice for animals, express the truth. People will ask you all types of questions, some may even have nothing to do with the issue you are trying to tackle. Answering some difficult questions can help you gain respect and legitimacy from others and even adults.

Always keep your eyes and ears open. The best source of learning is through experience. Yet, that is not to say you have to had walked on the street with a stray animal to understand their hardships. The combination of passion and knowledge is an unbreakable one!
